00 Hourly (Non-Exempt) CLOSE DATE:
Open Until Filled POSITION
Summary:
Under the Field Supervisor's supervision, to perform fuel reduction work projects for Mooretown Forestry Contract Services on both private and National Forest Land.
Responsibilities:
1.
Operate equipment according to Forest Service specifications for the project required.
2.
Must wear required safety equipment at all times while working with Heavy equipment.
3.
Must carry safety equipment at all times when required (shovel, fire extinguisher, hardhat).
4.
Keep all equipment in safe working order (Check oil, grease machine check water, deff level if machine requires it daily).
5.
All work is to be done according to Forest Service specifications usually done on avenza mapping system.
6.
Maintain a safe distance away from other ground crew members working on the ground (watch for falling trees).
7.
Must wear required safety equipment at all times while in the woods.
Hard hats, Safety glasses, Ear protection.
8.
Perform other duties as required.
If a water tanker is needed for fire suppression It is the operator's responsibility to keep it full of water and in working order.
Qualifications:
1.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
2.
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
3.
Must become familiar with the Forest Service hand held radio in case of emergency.
4.
Ability to work as part of a team.
5.
Must be in good physical condition.
6.
Preference will be given to Native Americans (25 USC Sec.
472A).
7.
Must have a valid California Driver's License and be insurable on Mooretown Rancheria's automobile policy.
8.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, live scan/fingerprinting (DOJ/FBI).
